Webb16 feb. 2004 · There are 2 different size plugs. "Most" early blocks, up to maybe 1986 or so, use a 1/2" plug. The newer ones are slightly smaller, can't remember the exact size. Take a straightened coathanger and stick it down through the hole where the oil pressure gauge screws in. If it comes out the bottom, you need a plug.
